Self-improving supply chains.

Big Picture

Today’s supply chains do a lousy job matching supply with demand, resulting in shortages or, more often, wasted inventory. As bad as this is for retailers and consumers, it’s a disaster for the climate. In some industries, as much as 50% of inventory gets thrown out, most of it left to rot in landfills. The real climate killer, though, is the extra emissions from moving so much unwanted stuff. By some estimates, smarter supply chains could avert gigatons of GHG emissions a year.

How it Works

Pendulum replaces outdated, human-managed forecasting models with an AI-powered API that automatically updates and optimizes supply chains. By using data from unconventional sources like social media, the API accurately predicts near term fluctuations in demand, even in otherwise data-poor regions. From there, it optimizes deliveries, all the way through the last mile, to greatly reduce waste and fortify supply chains against future interruptions.

Unfair Advantage

Having honed their system in some of the world’s most data-poor regions and markets, Pendulum’s API is purpose-built to fill in supply chain data gaps for first-of-its-kind end-to-end optimization. The US Air Force and frontline medical NGOs were Pendulum’s early adopters, validating the API’s effectiveness, and now the company is transitioning to remake supply chains in retail, agriculture, pharma, and many other commercial sectors.
