As Operating Partner and Head of Capital Formation & Strategic Partnerships, Christian leads fundraises and strategic partnerships to drive growth at Lowercarbon Capital and support the firm’s portfolio companies.
Christian brings more than a decade of experience building and scaling companies that tackle big market and societal challenges. Most recently, he was Managing Director at Redesign Health, where he led the company’s international expansion and helped scale its model of launching and funding healthcare startups to better serve patients around the world.
Prior to that, he founded Hello Alfred, a tech-driven service that brings concierge-style support to apartment residents. As the startup’s Head of Growth, he helped build it into North America's leading resident-focused real estate technology platform, serving over 300,000 apartment dwellers across 357 communities in 52 markets. He also co-founded TRIDENT, a private equity firm that leverages data and technology to provide equitable access to small business investment opportunities.
Mentorship has always been a hallmark of Christian’s entrepreneurial journey, from his long-standing role guiding the next generation of investors at student-run VC Rough Draft Ventures, to advising numerous startups — often to successful acquisition. He also continues to serve as an advisor to Redesign Health, as his passion for their mission didn’t end when he turned in his key card.
Shaped by his Norwegian heritage and bilingual fluency, Christian brings an international perspective that informs his approach to global markets and cross-border opportunities. After growing up in Norway and attending boarding school in England, he hopped the pond to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies from Harvard College and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. He also fenced at Harvard, which feels like it should be a perfect metaphor for investing, but he hasn’t had many opportunities in his career to brandish his epee.
When he’s not bridging the worlds of traditional finance and impact investing, Christian can be found gaming, golfing, or going a few rounds at the boxing gym. He lives in New York with his wife and son, who graciously listen to his glory-day stories about playing bass in a band in high school.
