Elena is an Associate at Lowercarbon Capital, where she supports entrepreneurs building innovative tech to heal our planet and create a more efficient and thriving world. Her work is largely focused on deep dives into sourcing and diligence, as well as unearthing opportunities to accelerate portfolio growth.

Prior to Lowercarbon, Elena served as a Venture Fellow at VC firm Fifty Years, where she worked to strengthen relationships with top-tier technical institutions and built internal tools to scale founder support. Next up was an operating role at Roblox, where she completed a product management rotational program. There, she developed an intuition for rapid commercial scale, building products on both the Growth and Economy teams.

Elena graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Symbolic Systems, an interdisciplinary program with a blend of coursework across Computer Science, Philosophy, and Psychology. She concentrated in Human-Computer Interaction and minored in Ethics and Technology, laying the groundwork for her ever-evolving framework for maximizing the societal benefits of technology while mindfully minimizing its harms. She rounded out her time at Stanford by working as a long-time teaching assistant in Stanford’s Computer Science Department, serving as the Co-President of SENSA, the Stanford Social Entrepreneurial Students’ Association, and playing on a ruthlessly competitive intramural beach volleyball team.

Elena is a Bay Area native and grew up in a suburb of San Francisco fondly nicknamed “The City of Trees.” She now resides in the heart of San Francisco, where she still very much enjoys surrounding herself with verdant vibes, although now settling for an alarmingly large and ever-growing indoor garden of house plants. When not at the office, you can find her watering, potting, and pruning, or testing out a new “strictly 5-ingredient” Trader Joe’s recipe.
