Rachel is an Investor at Lowercarbon focusing on growth-stage opportunities. She partners with founders who are scaling solutions towards decarbonization and climate resiliency, and thrives in the space where complex systems, capital, and execution meet.

Before joining Lowercarbon, Rachel spent nearly six years in various roles across JPMorgan's Investment Bank, where she helped shape the firm’s direction across climate, energy, and infrastructure. She worked closely with senior leadership to embed climate-aligned thinking into the investment bank’s priorities. Rachel’s time at JPMorgan gave her a rigorous grounding in how capital markets operate, and where they often fail to match ambition with reality.

Rachel is also wrapping up her PhD in Sustainable Finance at the University of Oxford’s Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, where she’s focused on how capital providers and receivers align climate commitments with real-economy outcomes. She also holds an MSc in Environmental Economics and Climate Change from the London School of Economics, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Relations from the University of St Andrews. Pursuing academia and a corporate career in parallel has given her a distinctive perspective, bridging pragmatism and expansive, systems-based thinking.

After nearly a decade in the UK, Rachel recently relocated to Los Angeles to join the Lowercarbon team. However, you will catch her most weekends in Utah skiing and riding horses.
